3D-Scan to Sheetmetal – Muffler Tip
3D-Scan to Sheetmetal – Muffler Tip

Summary
For a customer in the field of racing mopeds I have this exhaust with a laser scanner from Marquardt-3D scanned. The customer required the appropriate individual parts, fully processed, to create a replica. Such an exhaust is mostly unique and purely a matter of luck or experience, so that the right pressure is generated inside. Once it has been installed and test driven, it is usually impossible to create an exact copy. With the help of this workflow, however, subsequent series production is possible, for example. possible without any problems!
In the following, this means that the weld seams had to be removed from the scan and the missing distance remedied will. The resulting surface areas were then developed congruently so that they can later be cut with the laser..
For the individual sheet metal parts still had to be arranged with a laser cutter and the individual parts still had to be drawn and numbered and labeled according to their arrangement for later production. Since the scan was so good, I decided to prepare the data set for the rendering. There wasn’t much to do, in the end only one weld seam had to be improved! The laser probably irradiated a little too much because this spot wasn’t welded very cleanly
